-- Industrial Distribution, 5/1/2008
The Industrial Supply Assn. will host its annual Industrial Supply Conference & Trade Fair next month in Chicago.
The three-day event will run from June 1–3 and feature workshops, social events and a two-day trade show.
Speakers include industry consultant Bill McCleave, who will address recruiting top talent in “Enhancing Our Most Important Resource Base: The Continuing Quest for Human Capital;” sales expert Dave Kahle, who will share some secrets of sales rep success; Bob DeStefano of SVM E-Business Solutions, who will discuss online marketing strategies; and economist Alan Beaulieu of the Institute for Trend Research, who will analyze current economic trends.
ISA will also reveal the results of an 18-month-long study on industry market share during the educational track portion of the conference on Tuesday, June 3. The report covers 14 product categories in more than 500 markets in the United States and Canada. The first part of the session will provide tutorials on why the information is important to members and how they can use it for business planning purposes. The second part will explain how they can put the data to use to benefit their companies. The printed report for the top 100 markets will be distributed to everyone who attends the session.
ISA's Young Executives Forum will host a golf tournament prior to the official start of the convention, on Saturday, May 31. Proceeds from the tournament, which will be held at Indian Lakes Resort in Bloomingdale, Ill., will be used to support YEF's programs and events.
ISA's trade show runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, featuring manufacturer-sponsored booths, and from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 2, featuring distributor- and independent manufacturer rep-sponsored booths.
The headquarters hotel for this year's Industrial Supply Conference & Trade Fair is the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont, Ill. The trade show will be held at the neighboring Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. For more information, go to www.isapartners.org.
