Timken opens two new Asia plants

The Timken Co. opened two new manufacturing plants in Asia.The Canton, Ohio-based bearings manufacturer opened a medium-sized tapered roller bearings plant in Chennai, India, and an aerospace bearings manufacturing facility in Chengdu, China, taking its total number of plants in Asia to seven.
“The opening of our plants in Chennai and Chengdu is not only important to our ability to serve customers in Asia, it represents a major step forward in our strategy of driving growth in global industrial markets,” president and CEO James Griffith said. “We will continue to make investments, both organic and inorganic, to take advantage of strong global demand in our targeted industrial growth markets.”
