Legrand Electric expands into Turkey

Legrand Electric acquired Estap, a Turkish electrical products manufacturer, for an undisclosed amount.Istanbul-based Estap, which makes wiring devices and energy distribution products, posted sales of more than $30 million last year, with about 60 percent coming from exports to Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Limoges, France-based Legrand, which manufactures electrical products, said the deal expands its footprint into emerging markets, which accounted for about half of its organic growth last year and 25 percent of its $5.6 billion in 2007 sales. The company employs 35,000 people worldwide.
