Parker Hannifin lands $1 million wind power grant

Industrial Distribution staff -- Industrial Distribution, 3/27/2008 6:36:00 AM

Parker Hannifin Corp. landed a $1 million grant to help develop wind power in Ohio.

The grant, from the Ohio Third Frontier Advanced Energy Program, is for the commercialization of a hydraulic system the Cleveland-based fluid power and motion control products manufacturer developed for wind turbines.

The system uses components in wind turbines to convert wind energy into electricity, improve their overall energy generating capacity and reliability and reduce maintenance expenses.
