The mechanical carpenter pencil is equipped with Dura Lead, which requires no sharpening. The lead can be shaped by rubbing on a piece of sandpaper, concrete floor or other abrasive material, allowing the user to get closer to a speed square than other pencils. The body of the pencil is made of thick-bodied, high-impact ABS plastic to withstand tough job-site use. The lead is 18% thicker than traditional carpenter pencil lead and lasts 2 to 3 times longer.
