NFDA heads to Arizona
-- Industrial Distribution, 4/1/2008
The National Fastener Distributors Assn. will hold its Spring Meeting this month at the Camelback Inn, Scottsdale, Ariz.
The event marks the group's 40th anniversary and will be held April 9-11.
Consultant Joe Calhoon will give the keynote address, entitled “On the Same Page,” in which he'll examine the best management practices distributors should use in the months ahead.
According to Calhoon, more than 200 management practices have been taught to America's business leaders in recent years, yet only a handful really matter to an organization's future success. Calhoon will address the management practices distributors need to focus on to create sustainable business success.
Other speakers include Brian Beaulieu, an economist with the Institute for Trend Research, who will speak on “Mounting Economic Problems for 2009.”
Beaulieu says the United States is not yet in a recession and won't be for the remainder of this year. But he says he's concerned about a general business downturn in 2009 and beyond. Beaulieu will discuss which markets will fare better than others and what can be done to protect FPDA members' businesses.
