Gates Corp. acquired A.E. Hydraulic (Pte.) Ltd., a Singapore-based hydraulic and industrial hose products distributor, for an undisclosed amount.

Based in Jurong, Singapore's largest industrial area, A.E. Hydraulic serves the oil exploration industry. The deal accelerates the Denver-based hydraulics, hose and industrial rubber products manufacturer's expansion into that market, the company said in a statement.

“Having a solid reputation in the dynamic and expanding Singapore market, A.E. Hydraulic is well positioned to serve the needs of the oil and gas industry and is a natural addition to Gates' presence in the Southeast Asia region. The acquisition creates new opportunities for Gates to enter the market with hydraulic and industrial hose and fittings as well as assembly services,” Gates president John Bohenick said.
