Veyance to explore sale of Belt Concepts of America

Veyance Technologies Inc. plans to explore the sale of its Belt Concepts of America lightweight conveyor belt subsidiary to focus on heavy-duty belt markets.

The former Goodyear Engineered Products division said the Belt Concepts subsidiary’s manufacturing plant and offices in Spring Hope, N.C., employ more than 60 associates and generate annual sales of more than $22 million.

“Belt Concepts is a healthy business with great associates, products and customers,” Veyance president and CEO Tim Toppen said, adding that Veyance is focusing on heavy-duty industrial products, including Goodyear-branded conveyor belts.

“We recently purchased a U.S. heavy-duty conveyor belt fabric plant, created a China joint venture that is the country’s largest heavy-duty conveyor belt producer and acquired a central Appalachian heavy-duty conveyor belt service operation,” Toppen said. “And we will continue to strengthen our position in heavy-duty markets.”
