Airgas buys New York gas distributor

Airgas Inc. acquired Northeast Gas Technologies Ltd., an Albany, NY-based distributor of industrial, medical, and specialty gases and related supplies, for an undisclosed amount.

Northeast Gas, which operates five locations in upstate New York and Vermont, had sales of $10 million last year. The company, which employs 48 people, will be integrated into the Airgas East regional division.

Airgas ranked fifth on INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION’s 2007 Big 50 list of distributors, with sales of $3.2 billion during fiscal 2007.
