Trelleborg’s 2007 sales rise 13.5 percent

Trelleborg posted sales of $4.88 billion last year, up 13.5 percent compared with $4.3 billion during the prior year.Profits for the Swedish seals and bearings manufacturer rose 9.4 percent to $132 million, compared with $120.6 million during 2006.
Fourth-quarter sales increased 12.3 percent to $1.23 billion, up from $1.09 billion during the same period in the prior year. Quarterly profits rose to $22 million, compared with a loss of $1.4 million during the fourth quarter of 2006.
“We are prioritizing continued improvements in the operational structure and a focus on segments offering healthy long-term profitability,” president and CEO Peter Nilsson said.
Trelleborg said it expects growth in most of its end markets during 2008, with especially strong demand from the aerospace and oil and gas industries but weaker demand from the North American automotive market.
