Grainger’s January sales rise 8 percent

The Lake Forest, Ill.-based broad-line distributor’s branch-based segment posted a sales increase of 6 percent for the month; sales for its Acklands-Grainger Canadian division rose 22 percent in January. Laboratory supply company Lab Safety Supply’s sales rose 5 percent last month.

Grainger ranked fourth on INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION’s 2007 Big 50 list of distributors, with 2006 sales of $5.9 billion.
