Veyance Technologies buys Monk Mining Supply

Veyance Technologies Inc. acquired Monk Mining Supply and its subsidiary, Millennium Vulcanizing, for an undisclosed amount.Tazewell, Va.-based Monk, which has annual sales of $30 million, distributes conveyor belts and related products to the Appalachian coal mining industry. Former owner Les Monk, general manager Ron Gibson and sales manager Glenn Riddle will continue to run the company, which will operate under its own banner.
Millennium Vulcanizing, which provides conveyor belt installation and repair services, will become Veyance Industrial Services.
“[The acquisition] makes us a one-stop shop, total solution provider for central Appalachian coal producers,” said Bret Hall, Veyance's general manager of industrial services.
