Salem Tools rebrands, merges with Regal Industries

Salem Tools took on a new corporate moniker and acquired a stake in Regal Industries Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

The new brand, ST Solutions, bought some of the assets and liabilities of the Louisville, Ky.-based cutting tools and abrasives distributor, ST Solutions CFO Dennis Montgomery told INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION. The company formed a new subsidiary, Regal Industries LLC, he said.

“We felt that the Salem Tools brand didn’t accurately reflect what we’re about,” Montgomery said, noting that the Salem, Va.-based company grew from its origins as a cutting tool distributor to include MRO products, integrated supply and application engineering services.

“We are excited about combining our experienced, valued workforce and services and expanding our geographic footprint,” ST Solutions president and CEO William Powell said.
