Graybar’s net sales rise 4 percent during first three quarters

Graybar posted net sales of $3.92 billion during the first nine months of fiscal 2007, a 4.3 percent increase over the same period during fiscal 2006.Net income for the St. Louis-based electrical distributor rose 41.7 percent during the period to $66.2 million, compared with the first three quarters of fiscal 2006.
“Our net income through the third quarter this year is greater by almost $9 million than our annual net income in 2006,” chairman, president and CEO Robert Reynolds Jr. said. “Such positive results demonstrate that our long-range strategy is working. Our investments in growth, continuous improvement, people development and technology enhancement are showing a great return.”
The company also added JVC Professional Products Co.’s line of surveillance and security products to its line card. Graybar, which entered the security market in 2004, said that business has seen double-digit annual growth since its inception.
Graybar ranked sixth on INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION’s 2007 Top 10 List of Electrical Distributors, with sales of $5.01 billion in 2006.
