The MD+PRO II wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) machine features a stacked filter design to reduce floor space requirements, a redesigned upper and lower head to improve durability and reduce setup and maintenance costs, simplified auto-threading and wire drive systems to reduce part costs and extend maintenance cycles and multi-axis and EDM automation capabilities. The machine integrates a b-axis for indexing and “turn-and-burn” applications. The indexing technology eliminates operator intervention and preserves accuracy with guaranteed angle precision. The continuous rotation of the b-axis during “turn-and-burn” applications allows the machining of very narrow slots. It features a 350 v power supply with anti-electrolysis technology and the Power Master 4 control for full automation from rough to finish machining of multiple parts with different shapes and thicknesses.
