Grainger sales for November up 10 percent

W. W. Grainger Inc. saw its sales for November improved by 10 percent over Nov. 2006.

Acklands-Grainger led the way with an improvement of 21 percent over last year. Grainger’s branch-based segments had sales improve by 9 percent and Lab Safety Supply had sales that were up 5 percent over last year.

The overall 10 percent jump included a 2 percentage point benefit from foreign currency. Selling days for the month (21) were the same in both years.

Based in Lake Forest, Ill. W.W. Grainger Inc. is a supplier of facilities maintenance products with customers in Canada, China, Mexico and the United States. It ranked 4th on Industrial Distribution’s Big 50 list of distributors with sales of $5.9 billion.
