IBC honors members at national meeting

-- Industrial Distribution, 12/1/2007

IBC recently held its national meeting at the Sheraton Suites Hotel in Chicago.

The meeting saw the announcement of IBC’s redesigned Web site, www.IndustrialBuyers.com, as well as the release of new vision, mission and value statements and the founding of the IBC Strategic Account Management Team.

Founded in 1999, IBC is a national distributor alliance, with more than 600 locations and annual sales of more than $2.9 billion.

“This meeting clearly outlined how far we’ve come in eight years,” says Dan Burnham, president of IBC. “With the support of [our members], IBC will live up to our tagline as 'The Next Generation of Supply Chain Management’”.

Several IBC companies were recognized for their performance at the Chicago meeting:

• Member of Excellence awards were given to S.L. Fusco Inc., Butler Brothers Industrial Supply and Industrial Tooling & Supply Inc. The IBC Member of the Year was E.F. Bailey Co.

• For individual contributions, Frank Slagle of Tool Crib Inc. was chosen as the Individual MVP.

• IBC’s preferred suppliers elected Haggard & Stocking Industrial Supplies as its Member of the Year.

• Supplier of Excellence awards were presented to J.H. Williams Tool Group of Snap-on Industrial Distribution, M.A. Ford Co. and the L.S. Starrett Co.

• The IBC Supplier of the Year was WMH Tool Group.

• The Supplier of the Year Award went to Kennametal Inc.

• Special recognition went to Forrest Thompson of Waterloo Industries, who had recently returned from overseas deployment in Iraq.
