Graybar lands federal contract, expands in Illinois

Graybar was awarded a new, five-year contract by the federal General Services Administration and debuted a new branch in Collinsville, Ill.Government buyers can now purchase more than 28,000 lighting, power management, safety, plumbing and other MRO products from 49 suppliers stocked by the St. Louis-based electrical distributor.
“This contract win is the result of Graybar’s strategic investment in serving government customers that includes specialized sales and service support, an expanded product offering and advanced e-business tools,” senior vice president of sales and distribution Dennis DeSousa said.
Graybar said it opened its 12th location in the Missouri/Illinois region with the debut of a 10,000-sq.-ft. distribution facility in Collinsville, Ill.
The new store features a counter operation and one-hour will-call service.
Graybar ranked sixth on INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION’s 2007 Top 10 Electrical Distributors list, with sales of $5.01 billion last year.
