More than 6,000 attend Inforum 2007, Infor’s users conference, in Las Vegas

More than 6,000 of software company Infor's customers and members of the media traveled to Las Vegas the week of Sept. 9 for Inforum 2007, the company's annual user conference.
Held at the Venetian hotel in the center of the Las Vegas strip, the event featured more than 700 educational sessions aimed at users of Infor's products, which include a line of applications aimed at distributors.
Presenters included customers, business partners such as sponsor IBM and Infor executives and employees.
Chairman and CEO Jim Schaper told attendees in his keynote address, “Be Enterprising,” that the company has added 1,700 new customers in the last year, representing 11,000 new licenses of Infor products.
That's due to the company's focus on understanding its clients' businesses and developing relationships with them, says Andrew McGlasson, Infor's global director of marketing for wholesale distribution.
“The way we go to market is dependent on our relationships with customers,' McGlasson says. “'We are truly partners [with our clients].”
Infor has more than 9,000 distribution customers worldwide, he adds.
Schaper told analysts attending the conference that the company's string of acquisitions (Infor, originally called Agilisys, was spun out of Systems & Computer Technology in 2002 and rapidly bought a series of mid-sized software companies) is likely over for the near future as the company focuses on streamlining its operations and improving its offerings.
“There will be no more M&A for a while,” he says.
The event also featured a “Solutions Expo,” in which Infor and more than 70 of its business partners displayed various software solutions for attendees.
Inforum 2007 wrapped up Sept. 11 with a performance by actors Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi, reprising their roles as Blues Brothers Jake and Elwood.
