Regal Beloit buys Morrill Motors

Regal Beloit Corp. has purchased Morrill Motors, Regal said in a statement. The price of the acquisition was not disclosed.Based in Erwin, Tenn., Morrill Motors is a manufacturer of fractional horsepower motors and components sold primarily to commercial refrigeration and freezer markets.
Regal expects the deal to add approximately $8 million to fourth quarter sales and approximately $42 million in sales to its 2008 projections.
The acquisition includes Morrill's wholly-owned subsidiary in Jiaxing, China, which will expand Regal's manufacturing operations there.
''The business is a great addition to our portfolio of energy efficient system solutions for our customers. This acquisition will further expand our global manufacturing and commercial capabilities,'' Henry Knueppel, chairman and CEO of Regal Beloit, said in a statement.
