Intuit Eclipse, NetSuite offer new mobile technologies
Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 8/1/2007
Intuit Eclipse, which will become a division of software provider Activant this month, is touting its new sales force automation system as a key to improving customer service. Eclipse Mobile gives field salespeople access to critical information via popular smart-phones, pocket PCs and mobile PDAs.
The program, which integrates seamlessly with the company's ERP software, allows salespeople to view customer and product information, check availability and quickly calculate pricing and view sales order details. Users can also view customer and vendor contact information, access accounts receivable balances, open orders and more.
Version 1.0 can be used with Blackberry 700 and above, Palm Treo 650 Series and above, Motorola Q, and any mobile PDA running Windows Mobile 5.0 or above.
In other software news, NetSuite introduced SuitePhone, which allows NetSuite users to run their business operations remotely using the Apple iPhone. The capability supports Safari—the iPhone and Mac browser—allowing access to NetSuite's AJAX-based user interface technologies such as drop-down menus, drag-and-drop portlets and inline editing. Also, the company's ERP, CRM and e-commerce functionality is now available to Apple users.
