NFDA Spring Meeting set for April 25-27
Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 4/1/2007
The National Fastener Distributors Assn. will hold its annual Spring Meeting April 25-27 at the Walt Disney World Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Merrifield Consulting president Bruce Merrifield will deliver the keynote address, “Making Change Happen (Indirectly!).”
Merrifield will explain why many so-called “change management” theories won't work until a company's culture is changed so that its employees are eager to move toward a common vision.
Merrifield will also present “Making Change Happen–the Hands-on Approach,” in which he'll address the importance of providing the hands-on information and tools necessary to produce cultural change within companies.
Another educational session, “Processes to Your Business,” presented by William Butler of Next Level Partners, will cover lean applications in management.
Butler has worked with fastener industry companies and has several years of experience managing various lean process systems, such as the Toyota Production System.
On Friday, April 27, William Jeffrey, president and CEO of IRMCO, a supplier to the metal-stamping industry, will present “Workforce Management Through Innovation.” Jeffrey will analyze how implementing new practices and developing technological advances can motivate a workforce, resulting in cost savings.
There will also be a panel discussion on “Global Issues and the Fastener Industry,” in which representatives from the Taiwan Fastener Trading Assn., European Fastener Distributors Assn. and NFDA will discuss doing business on a global scale, emphasizing relationship building.
