Mittler Supply gives back to its Midwest community
One of the largest independent distributors in the Midwest is giving back to the community on the occasion of its 60th anniversary. Founded in 1946 and based in South Bend, Ind., Mittler Supply recently made a $60,000 donation to the Salvation Army. The money will support the Salvation Army's various community centers within Mittler's service area.
Mittler Supply sells industrial, specialty, and medical gases, along with welding supplies, to customers throughout Indiana, Western Michigan and greater Chicago.
“As we began planning our 60th anniversary celebration, we reflected on all parties that keep a company healthy and growing,” said Dennis Hulth, Mittler's president and CEO. “We talked about customers, employees, suppliers and the communities we work and live in, and felt strongly we should reach out and give back to these communities.”
“Our country continues to face many challenges in terms of natural disasters like Katrina, the ongoing war in Iraq, and the tragic 9-11 terrorist attacks,” added chairman of the board Tom Mittler. “Throughout the hardships, I have been moved by the dedication and service of the Salvation Army.”
The Salvation Army's community centers provide people with basic emergency services, including food, housing and utility assistance, in times of crisis.
