GISMO to Give the Goods

Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 8/1/2006

The Global Industrial Supply Marketing Organization will present its Top Management Summit, Nov. 19–20, at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont, Ill. The two-day seminar is aimed at distributors and manufacturers interested in building business around the world, especially in China.

The program includes exclusive research and inside information that will help companies buy, sell or partner in China, Southeast Asia, India, North Africa, Eastern Europe and other emerging industrial markets, according to program organizers.

Produced by Thomas Associates, Inc. and Reed Business Information (parent company of Indistrial Distribution), the GISMO Summit is designed for CEOs, presidents, COOs and other senior managers of companies that manufacture and sell a wide range of MRO products.

The program line-up includes a keynote address by James McGregor, author of the best-selling book, One Billion Customers: Lessons from the Front Lines of Doing Business in China (attendees also will receive a complimentary copy of the book); results of an exclusive study on the emerging global marketplace by Reed Business Information; a workshop on “Strategies for Global Sourcing,” which will define how to find and work with suppliers across the world; and a workshop on “Demystifying Logistics in China,” which will highlight best practices with third-party logistics companies that speed freight and sidestep many of the logistics headaches common with doing business in China and other countries.
