ISD to Meet in Nashville
Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 8/1/2006
The Independent Sealing Distributors will host their 15th Annual Meeting & Convention in Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 13–16. Themed, “Profiting through Partnering,” the convention will include a full-day supplier showcase, networking opportunities, and a single-topic business focus session.
According to association materials, ISD designed this year's convention program sessions around one topic: helping attendees' companies add 4.5 points to their bottom lines by driving costs out of their channel. To that end, Tim Underhill, president of Strategic Business Solutions, will present an all-inclusive session called, “Distributor-Manufacturer Channel Efficiencies,” over two days and four phases. Phase 1 will focus on “Managing the Forces of Change,” Phase 2 will be on “Team Up! Profit Up!,” Phase 3 will cover “The Process to Improve,” and Phase 4, which will not include Underhill, will focus on ISD team workshops. Phases 1 and 2 will be held on Thursday, Phase 3 on Friday, and Phase 4 on Saturday. Underhill is author of Team Up, Profit Up.
Other convention highlights include the ISD Fluid Sealing Supplier Showcase, an associate and affiliate exhibit program; the ISD Annual Golf Tournament, which will be held at Hermitage Golf Course; and ISD Evening Receptions on Sept. 13 and 15. Tours available for the attendees and companions include a tour of Nashville Celebrity Homes and lunch at Puckett's Grocery; and a shuttle to downtown Nashville with “on-your-own” tour options. Dine around options include Jimmy Kelly's Steakhouse and B.B. King's Nashville.
