BSA unveils new Web siteThe Bearing Specialists Assn. launched a new Web site, www.bsahome.org, to better serve the needs of association members, industry leaders and others who use it as a bearing industry resource.
In addition to a new graphic look, the BSA home page has a news feed from the National Assn. of Wholesaler-Distributors' SmartBrief newsletter that will be updated automatically each time SmartBrief is published.
“Electronic communications are vital to busy industry leaders like those in BSA,” says BSA chairman Douglas Savage. “…Like all the best Web sites, [the home page] is a dynamic communications hub, designed to accommodate new information as it becomes available.”
The new Web site makes accessing BSA information easier, with direct links to the Certification, Convention, Industry Partners, Committees and Sales Training pages. “Tools You Can Use” directs visitors to BSA white papers, the Product Price Information Format, Educational Services Committee reports, BSA's Certified Bearing Specialist program, the In-House Training Guide, the Performance Analysis Report and more. For more information, visit www.bsahome.org.
ISSA standard gains momentumThe first consensus-based quality management standard for the cleaning industry has gained widespread interest, as a growing number of industry organizations have signed on to participate in the document's creations, reports ISSA, the association for the cleaning industry. ISSA is the sole financer of the project.
A mix of representatives drawn from all facility segments within the industry—facility management, purchasing, in-house service providers, environmental services, building service contractors, consulting and training—have completed the third phase of drafting.
The new standard will apply to the management of an entire cleaning organization, not cleaning practices. The standard addresses five key elements identified as being the cornerstone of a well-managed cleaning organization: management/administration, quality systems, service delivery, human resources, and commitment to health, safety and environmental stewardship.
ISSA anticipates the draft standard will be ready for public comment before the industry's main event, the ISSA/INTERCLEAN USA trade show, Oct. 4–7, in Chicago. For more information, visit www.issa.com.
PTDA releases new directoryThe Power Transmission Distributors Assn. has released the association's 2006–2007 Membership Directory. According to PTDA, the directory is an excellent resource for locating providers of all types of power transmission/motion control–related systems, products and support.
The directory is updated annually to include the most recent contact information for member distributors and manufacturers of PT/MC products. A comprehensive alphabetical distributor listing includes complete address, phone, fax, e-mail and Web site; top executive contacts; number and locations of branches; and lines represented by the firm. The manufacturer section includes complete address, phone, fax, e-mail and Web site; top-level management contacts; and product categories manufactured. A quick-reference index of manufacturers by product also is included.
Other directory highlights include an associate member listing with complete contact information and a company description; a PTDA overview; phone and e-mail information for key executives and PTDA volunteer leaders; and an advertiser index. For more information, visit www.ptda.org.
