Lewis-Goetz, Inc. announced plans to acquire Goodall Rubber Co. from Trelleborg AB, a Swedish manufacturing firm. Terms were not disclosed, but the deal was expected to close by the end of April.
The acquisition expands Lewis-Goetz's scope into Canada, as well as the Gulf Coast, Midwest and the West Coast.
"Goodall nicely complements our business. We are tied to energy, and Goodall is tied to energy, with its presence in the Gulf Coast," said Dave Goetz, chairman and CEO of Lewis-Goetz. "We liked the industries they serve [agriculture, oil]."
Goodall president Terry Taylor added, "We are pleased to be joining forces with Lewis-Goetz to create an industrial rubber distribution power house in North America."
In 2005, Lewis-Goetz ranked 46th on Industrial Distribution's list of the Big 50 industrial distributors and Goodall Rubber ranked 43rd.
The combined companies' revenues are expected to exceed $200 million.
