Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 12/1/2005

The Concrete Sawing and Drilling Assn. heads south for its 34th annual convention, to be held Jan. 28–Feb. 1 in Charleston, S.C.

The keynote address will aim to motivate attendees to "Get Switched On," with ways to improve their businesses through a better understanding of the industry, concrete cutting technology and effective management tools.

"The 2006 convention program has been developed to help sawing and drilling professionals with many ways to boost productivity and profit at their companies," said Patrick O'Brien, CSDA executive director.

Presentations will include "How a Specifier Selects a Sawing and Drilling Contractor," "Economic Forecast and Market Out-look," and "Practical Solutions to Implement at your Company." Workshops will include "Wage and Hour Compliance in the Construction Industry," and "Equipment Maintenance Management."

Roundtable discussions will be held on "Wire Sawing and Selective Demolition: Tips and Techniques" and "Highway Safety for Concrete Cutters."

The convention will take place at the Charleston Place Hotel. For more information, visit. www.csda.org.
