NAED announces new officersThe National Assn. of Electrical Distributors announced its new officers for 2005–06. The '05–06 NAED chairman of the board is Bill Elliott, president of Elliott Electric Supply, in Nacogdoches, Texas.Newly appointed chair-elect, John Duda of Butler Supply, Inc. in St. Louis, will work closely with Elliott.
Other directors include: Peter de Steiger as past chair; Bruce Leff as eastern region vice president; Tammy Miller as western region v.p.; Mike Ales as south central region v.p.; Sandra Rosecrans as eastern region v.p.; Les Williamson as western region v.p.-elect; George Adams, Jr. as south central region v.p.-elect. Members at large include D. Brent Spear, Cara Gordon Potter, Thomas Isenberg and Richard Waterman.
Other officers announced include: Lawrence Stern as finance committee chair; Robert Reynolds, Jr. as foundation chair; Jack Mumford as foundation chair-elect; Robert Smith as manufacturer representative; Todd Kumm as IDEA vice chair; Lyers Lockard, III as strategic focus chair; and David White as Your Emerging Talent chair.

NFDA relocatesThe National Fastener Distributors Assn. moved its headquarters, and brought on a new executive vice president. The association's board of directors decided to explore options for managing the association in an effort to build NFDA's membership, and strengthen its overall networking and education values. Following an extensive search, the board made a unanimous decision to partner with SmithBucklin Corp., an association management and professional services company. The association's new home is Chicago. With the relocation of the headquarters, Karen Hurley assumes the responsibilities of NFDA executive vice president.
Said NFDA president Peter Sullivan, "Our goal is to build on the association's solid foundation and support its strategic growth and goals....Karen is an experienced association executive, and we are happy to have her experience and input on the team...."

New ASA member benefitThe American Supply Assn. announced the introduction of its newest member benefit, a partnership with Affiliated Power Purchasers International. As a new benefit of membership in ASA, APPI Savings Solutions will work with wholesalers and manufacturers seeking to reduce their operating expenses by performing a utility audit that identifies myriad billing errors, and implements solutions that reduce expenses in energy, telecommunications, water, recycling, credit card processing, and waste removal services. According to ASA, conventional wisdom holds that companies should conduct an audit a minimum of every three years to identify true costs and savings potential. APPI is an independent energy and utility consulting firm.

ISSA newsISSA announced the 2006 ISSA Foundation board of directors, which assumes its duties this month, on the last day of ISSA/INTERCLEAN. Newly assigned to the board is Jack Key, who serves as chairman. Continuing on in their service to the board are John W. Marcus as treasurer, and Linda Silverman as secretary. Continuing as directors: Don Lees, Roger E. Parrott, Jr., Hal Uhrman, W. Grant Watckinson, and Charles Wax.
