Billtrust, a leading billing service provider for the distribution industry, and DMSi Software, a supplier of business management solutions for lumber wholesalers and building material distributors, announced a strategic alliance to enhance DMSi's solutions in the area of billing services. DMSi Software will offer its client companies Billtrust's CompleteBilling Service, which includes outsourced paper and electronic billing, an online customer service tool, expert bill redesign, and in-bill marketing.

Instead of printing invoices and statements in house, DMSi customers can electronically transmit bills to Billtrust for processing. With the ability to send bills via U.S. mail or electronically, depending on the customer's preference, CompleteBilling provides the clients with a seamless transition to electronic billing, allowing them to cut their billing costs by more than 50 percent.

"Our customers are always interested in reducing costs and getting paid faster," says DMSi president Cal German.

The first client of the alliance is Erie Materials, Inc., wholesale distributors of residential and commercial roofing, siding, windows, doors and related building products.

"We needed a cost-effective outsourced billing service with flexible capabilities, and Billtrust delivered a highly reliable solution," says Erie Materials director of information systems Rose Townsend.

Billtrust has helped Erie eliminate 40 hours per month that their staff spent preparing customer bills, and has reduced the company's billing-related costs by more than 20 percent, according to the company.
