Edgen acquires Western Flow Products

Industrial PVF distributor Edgen Corp. announced that its subsidiary, Edgen Canada, Inc., acquired the common stock of Western Flow Products, Inc. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Western Flow is Canada's largest stock distributor of specialty alloy pipe and components for use in the oil and gas, processing and power generation industries.
'We are excited about the Western Flow acquisition and the opportunity for geographical expansion into the Canadian marketplace,' Dan O'Leary, Edgen's president and CEO said in a prepared statement. 'This acquisition brings outstanding personnel to our organization and allows us to broaden the products available to our Canadian customers.'
The operations of Western Flow will be merged into Edgen Canada, Inc., which is also headquartered in Edmonton. Darcy Sallis, president of Western Flow, has been named Edgen Canada's general manager, and Western Flow principal Kevin Lofto was named sales manager. With a sales presence in Calgary and distribution in Edmonton, Edgen Canada will provide a combined location for carbon and alloy specialty clients.
Edgen ranked 28th in Industrial Distribution's 2005 Big 50 report , which lists the largest industrial distributors by sales volume.
