YEF readies for golf tournament
By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 1/1/2001
Newton, Mass-Members of the Young Executive Forum, a joint committee of the American Supply & Machinery Manufacturers' Assn. and the Industrial Distribution Assn., will host their annual fundraising golf tournament on May 22 at the Ko' olau Golf Course in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The YEF tournament is co-sponsored by Industrial Distribution and will be held in conjunction with the ASMMA/I.D.A. Spring Convention, May 19-21 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu. YEF is hopeful that members making the trip to Hawaii for the Spring Convention will stay an extra day to participate in this key fundraising event.
"I'm just hoping that the people who do attend [the convention] really consider spending the extra [time] in Honolulu and joining us for a round of golf," said YEF chairman Glen Korff, explaining that the tournament will be held the morning after ASMMA/I.D.A.'s closing events. "We want to continue what we're doing for the industry and this is a big funding event for us."
The tournament is open to all ASMMA and I.D.A. members. The registration fee is $185 per player and includes transportation to the course, a box lunch, cart, and green fees. Proceeds will help fund YEF's education initiatives.
"There are very few people who can say that they played golf in Hawaii," said Korff. "I'm certainly looking forward to it ... and I hope others take advantage of the opportunity as well."
The registration deadline is April 24. Corporate sponsorships are also available. For more information, contact I.D.A. at (877) 591-6210.
