The IRWIN Industrial Tool Co. introduced box beam levels, offering professional tradespeople more accurate and durable levels that incorporate innovative features designed to improve work productivity.
The accuracy starts with the products' patented vial mounting system in which vials are suspended in the frame, rather than glued to the frame. Expansion or contraction that occurs when aluminum or plastic is exposed to temperature fluctuations can break epoxy and cause poor accuracy in glued-in vials. IRWIN's mounting method protects vials from shock and temperature changes, enabling guaranteed accuracy in extreme temperatures.
The levels are precision machined from a solid block of acrylic, and will not break, leak, fade, fog or develop a static charge. Also, internal metal snap rings won't rub off, a common problem with other levels that have rings applied to the exterior surface of vials.
Patented features for vial adjustment also ensure accuracy. In field re-calibration, should it be necessary, is accomplished with a quick turn of a screwdriver or Allen wrench.
The levels are constructed of premium-grade aluminum in an extra thick and wide extrusion profile that incorporates reinforcing ribs for durability. All sizes include bridged horizontal vials for continuous extrusion edges that ensure unparalleled strength. Heavy-duty ½-in. thick rubber end caps protect the products from damage due to jobsite drops. In addition, the levels include work-saving features such as plumb-view window, strong rare earth magnets, and patented accessories.
