What's happening at ISCON? Following are some highlights from the meeting
Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 5/3/2005
Keynote speaker, Steve Forbes, CEO, Forbes, Inc.
Opening session, Sat., May 14, 3 p.m.
In his talk to ISCON, Steve Forbes, president and CEO of Forbes, Inc., and editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine, will explore how the economy influences American social values. With his knowledge of the economy, Forbes is able to translate the micro and macro economic trends that affect the future of business, government and families.
Forbes says that the prospects for the U.S. economy are dazzling, offering people more freedom and opportunity than ever before. However, he says, we also face serious challenges, including a record-high tax burden, suffocating regulatory restrictions, and record government spending. The challenge, he says, is to raise a new generation of leaders who understand the times and know what America must do.
"The world is looking to the U.S. for an example of how free people can adapt and advance amid changing times and circumstances," said Forbes, in a statement. "If we get it right, others will have the chance to get it right. But if we stumble, others will be at risk."
