Oracle introduced a new application to help companies manage entire transportation planning processes by reducing costs, improving responsiveness, and driving continuous improvement: Oracle Transportation Planning. It will be available with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10.

Oracle Transportation Planning will help reduce costs in a variety of ways, including combining small shipments into full truckloads with advanced pooling, cross docking and multi-stop trip capabilities; determining the lowest-priced carrier for each shipment using actual, detailed tariffs; identifying cost-efficient continuous moves; and providing specialized search tools.

By helping make the planning process faster and more efficient, the program will help empower planners to address issues, such as customer service, that wouldn't be considered with older methods.
