ISA posts two new reports

The Industrial Supply Assn. has posted two new reports to its association Web site, which ISA president Tom Berger says members should find of great interest and value. The 2004 Performance Report is a profit report on distributor financial performance, and the Quarterly Business Report, one that is familiar to all ISA members.

Information included in the Quarterly Business Report (July 2004) includes documentation that both the ISA–Manufacturers and ISA–Distributors indexes fell from Q1 2004 to Q2 2004. The ISA–D index fell from 67.92 to 65.05, and saw some improvement. From April 2004 to May 2004, the ISA-D rose from 64.83 to 65.48, and the ISA-M index rose from 61.65 in May 2004 to 62.39 in June 2004.

Both reports are available in digital format on the association's Web site.

NAED releases 2004 PAR Highlights

The electrical distribution industry revealed improved financial performance for the second consecutive year, according to the National Assn. of Electrical Distributors 2004 Performance Analysis Report Highlights. Results profiled in the report are based on financial survey data of 165 participating NAED distributor members throughout the United States.

The 2004 PAR Highlights, using 2003 data, report a more than 5 percent increase in annual sales change, an upward trend that appears to be continuing. The latest NAED Quarterly Sales Change Expectations survey shows that more than 80 percent of respondents anticipated continued increases for the first and second quarter of 2004.

Also, PAR Highlights includes a five-year trend analysis of key ratios, with findings such as: net profit margin rose for the second year, to 1.3 percent; profit margins for the high-profit distributor improved slightly, from 3.4 percent to 3.5 percent; and the inventory turnover rate remained stable at 4.1 turns per year.

PTDA publishes '04–05 directory

The Power Transmission Distributors Assn. has released the PTDA 2004–2005 Membership Directory, a resource bursting with providers of all power transmission/motion control–related systems, products and support. Updated annually to include the most recent contact information for PTDA's approximately 220 distributor members and almost 190 manufacturers, the directory is compact and easy to use, with foldout tabs that allow quick access to the three major portions of the directory.

A comprehensive alphabetical distributor listing includes addresses and contact information; executive contacts; branch locations; and manufacturers' lines represented. The manufacturers' listings include contact information; top-level management contacts; and products manufactured. Other information in the directory includes associate member listings with contact information and company descriptions; overviews of PTDA and the Educational & Scholastic Foundation; PTDA executives' and volunteers' contact information; and an advertiser index.
