Phoenix—NAHAD members celebrated a milestone at their annual meeting in Phoenix April 24–28—the association's 20-year anniversary. In addition to recognizing the association's founding members throughout the event, a special reception and dinner was held on Friday, April 23, honoring those founders, as well as the association's presidents, past and current.

A highlight of the Friday night event was a speech by INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION editor and associate publisher Jack Keough, who has been covering NAHAD's activities since 1986. Keough's retrospective presentation highlighted the major events of NAHAD's 20-year history, paying special attention to each president's achievements and the memorable locations of the group's annual conventions.

Keough received a standing ovation for his remarks.

Later during the convention, NAHAD executive director Joe Thompson recognized Keough and INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION for their support and coverage of NAHAD and the hose industry.

"Jack has been around since the beginning of time of NAHAD…I've counted on his guidance and advice over the years," said Thompson, referring to his 15-year relationship with INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION. "…Thank you so much for your friendship over the years."

Also during the event, NAHAD's outgoing president Mike Armbruster, of Valley Belting & Hose in Cincinnati, recognized Thompson's 15-year anniversary as director of NAHAD. He thanked Thompson and his staff for their ongoing support of the association.

"They are an incredible team and we are blessed to have them working on our behalf," Armbruster said.

More than 800 people turned out for NAHAD's 20^th Annual Meeting, held at Sheraton's Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa.
