Saving customers time and money

By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 5/1/2004

Cleveland—Meriam Process Technology, a manufacturer of instruments and software for the precise measurement and management of flow, temperature pressure and level, announced the introduction of DMS (Device Management System) Version 1.6. The software update includes powerful new features unique to the Meriam DMS, providing customers with cost-saving, time- saving and productivity-enhancing advantages when they choose DMS to manage their plant assets.

New features include the Import/Export Utility for populating the DMS server data from existing plant data sources and the utility; the HART Field Device Revision Independence, which streamlines replacement of older HART devices by mapping the existing configuration to the new device; and the 3rd Party Application Integration for providing connectivity between DMS and any other manufacturer's device-specific software applications. Other features include a Backup/Restore Utility, providing unlimited tag count for plant and enterprise-wide deployment; and Custom Categories, allowing users to create a category and define the parameters with a unique label and default value.
