Prophet 21 acquires DISC

Yardley, PA .—Prophet 21, a provider of technology solutions for durable goods distributors, has acquired Distributor Information Systems Corp., a provider of enterprise software solutions and services for fluid power distributors.

"The combined forces of Prophet 21 and DISC have made Prophet 21 the dominant technology provider in the fluid power market."
This acquisition strengthens Prophet 21's domain expertise in the distribution industry as a whole, while deepening its knowledge of the fluid power marketplace, said the company announcement.
"When we look to acquire a company, we look at their customer and market presence," Boyle said in a recent interview. "We had 200 customers in the fluid power market already, and DISC had more than 300. So in acquiring them, we are now the most dominant presence in the market."
