Pembroke and MDM launch industry scholarship
By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 4/1/2004
Philadelphia and Boulder, Colo.— Adam J. Fein, Ph.D., of Pembroke Consulting, and Thomas P. Gale, editor and publisher of Modern Distribution Management, recently announced that their companies will sponsor a $5,000 scholarship "designed to foster thought leadership in the wholesale distribution industry."
Pembroke Consulting provides services for senior executives from wholesale distribution, manufacturing and B2B technology companies for building and sustaining market leadership. MDM, a newsletter for the wholesale distribution channel, has served the industry for 37 years.
"Throughout the last decade, my colleagues and I have worked with senior distribution executives on strategic issues while advancing management knowledge about wholesale distribution through our many books, research projects and articles," said Pembroke's Fein. "We want to give something back, and help create future thought leaders for the industry."
Said MDM's Gale, "…We're committed to advancing strategic and operational thinking. This scholarship exactly matches our mission as a resource to help build the future of this industry."
Full-time college students at accredited U.S. universities are encouraged to apply for the scholarship. Entrants are required to submit an essay discussing how technology will affect the supply chain and future strategies of wholesaler-distributors. The scholarship winner will be announced in Sept. 2004, and the winning essay will be published in a forthcoming edition of MDM.
