The Power Transmission Distributors Assn. will hold its third annual Canadian Conference in Montreal, Quebec, May 13–15.

Designed to complement the PTDA Annual Convention, the conference will provide an opportunity for Canadian power transmission/motion control channel participants to explore nationally focused industry issues and trends. The schedule will consist of a Thursday evening welcome event, a full day of programming and dinner on Friday, a Saturday morning agenda with optional events scheduled for the afternoon and an optional dinner.

Highlights will include a keynote presentation by Dr. Peter Andersen of Andersen Economic Research Ltd.; a panel of key end-user industry executives; formal and informal networking with key decision makers; and social events, a golf outing and tours for companions/spouses.

The conference is open to all PTDA members selling product in Canada, as well as non-members who qualify for membership.

The Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Assn. has announced a new look for its association Web site, located at www.stafda.org.

Most of the site's changes have occurred in the "Members-Only" section, where members will now be able to access a special home page where five bulleted points will announce new STAFDA services, convention plans or important educational opportunities. The points also will provide links to other sections of the Web site, or hyperlink to other sites.

Among other changes: STAFDA's "Services" page has been redesigned for easier navigation; "Advisories" now houses two more Advisories—Sentry Insurance's safety issues, and Dr. Bart Basi's tax tips; a new education and meetings button for "Members-Only;" and in the Member Directory, site visitors now can search through the directory by product code, as well as company, state and membership category.
