WESTBROOK, MAINE —The cycle counting feature of FastPic4 inventory management and control software from FastPic Systems provides distribution companies with an efficient way to monitor inventory levels in automated storage and retrieval systems.
Cycle counting eliminates the need for costly plant shutdowns to physically count inventory items by keeping track of inventory levels within the storage and retrieval system. As an example, if the system operator requests five of a particular item, and only four pieces are in inventory, FastPic4 software automatically flags that location in the system for cycle counting. Periodically, the system operator may conduct a cycle count of all flagged locations by entering the cycle count command. FastPic4 automatically brings all flagged locations to the operator for confirmation of the inventory for those locations. Cycle counting also can be conducted by part and/or storage device.
FastPic4 software improves speed and order and parts picking accuracy in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution applications. It is designed to manage virtually all manual and automated storage and retrieval systems, including shelving and rack, pick-to-light, horizontal carousels, and vertical storage devices. The software also can manage multiple work zones where several different types of storage and retrieval systems are used. Features such as bar scanning, bulk storage management, paper pick lists, pick banding, continuous batch picking, and a variety of supervisory reports and options also are available.
