Lynn & Associates on Six Sigma

Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 11/1/2003

NEWTON, MASS.— A report by distribution consulting firm Frank Lynn & Associates analyzes the Six Sigma method of distribution and supply chain management.

Integrated Supply & Six Sigma: A natural bridge between manufacturing plants and integrated suppliers examines the Six Sigma methodology in which cost savings (rather than price savings) are emphasized.

The report — available on the Frank Lynn & Associates Web site, www.franklynn.com — describes Six Sigma as "a revolution that has hit much of the manufacturing sector in the U.S."

The chapters in the report focus on topics such as "The Evolution of Integrated Supply," "The Growing Phenomenon of Six Sigma" and "The Black Belt System: Why Six Sigma works better than re-engineering."
