BEL AIR, MD. — The Safety Equipment Distributors Assn. and its members will be Canadian for a week, when the organization's Safety Week 2003 settles into Toronto, July 26–29. The conference, an educational and networking opportunity for safety equipment distributors, manufacturers and representatives, will include three days of seminars, one-on-one executive conferences, roundtable discussions and recreation.
Events at the conference on Saturday and Sunday include: the Industrial Glove Assn. and SEDA Board of Directors' meetings and the Safety Equipment Manufacturers Agents Assn. committee meeting; a SEDA breakfast session with Al Bates; and a networking reception at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. Monday's events will include a general session with Jed Bullard; breakout sessions; a free afternoon tour of Toronto; the President's Reception; the IGA Hall of Fame Awards; and the Awards Banquet and Entertainment.
On Tuesday, registrants may attend general sessions led by Dan Shipp from ISEA and Chuck Holmes of Competitive Advantage; and business meetings for IGA, SEDA, SEMAA and the Canadian Glove Manufacturers Assn. The day culminates in the Scramble Golf Tournament at Lionhead Golf Course, and the Golf Reception and Awards ceremony.
A new, expanded format of the Table Top Exhibits on Display, held on Sunday, showcases raw material suppliers and product manufacturers, and allows them an opportunity to meet with customers and prospects at their own tabletop display. Sunday afternoon, distributors and suppliers will host tables to discuss ongoing business issues or new business with manufacturers and manufacturers' reps during concentrated, one-on-one 15-minute appointments.
Tuesday's golf tournament is for golfers of all skill levels, who will vie for team prizes and individual honors. Tournament fees, yet to be announced, will include green fees, cart, lunch and refreshments, post-tournament reception and transportation to and from the course.
