PLCs interface with PDAs, cell phones

PASADENA, CALIF. — Pacific Microinstruments, Inc. released a new version of the PLC Pilot™ application that enables users to interface mobile devices to Allen Bradley MicroLogix™ programmable logic controllers.

The PLC Pilot-AB is compatible with Palm Powered mobile devices offered by Palm, Handspring, Sony, Kyocera, Handera, and Samsung. The target users of the new software include field service personnel and engineers who want to eliminate the need for laptops and PCs when interfacing to Micrologix PLC-based equipment.
