Sterling Commerce offers VMI online

Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 1/1/2002

Columbus, Ohio—Sterling Commerce, a subsidiary of SBS Communications, Inc. selected Enterprise Data Management's Datalliance Service for vendor managed inventory. EDM is the newest member of the Sterling Commerce Affinity Alliance Program. This will enable comprehensive VMI utilizing STERLING Information Broker and Datalliance Service. It empowers manufacturers to improve forecasting, reduce inventory levels and reduce out-of-stock products. This can reduce costs, enhance customer service and increase sales.

The software allows collaborative relationships in the supply chain. Both suppliers and customers can access product activity data. This allows users to make the best replenishment decisions based upon high-quality data and the software's state-of-the-art logic.
