Scranton, PA .—BAHCO® North America and Snap-on® launched a new brand of tools at the Specialty Tools and Fasteners Distributors Assn. convention last November. BAHCO by Snap-on® brand is a new line of professional tools carried by industrial distributors. Together, the brands Snap-on and BAHCO boast over 200 years of toolmaking experience.
BAHCO, a company that purchased the rights to the original patent for the adjustable wrench, was acquired by Sandvik Saws and Tools in 1991.
In 1920, two entrepreneurs began the Snap-on Wrench Co., which became Snap-on Tools in 1931. In 1999, Snap-on acquired Sandvik Saws and Tools.
The premium line of tools includes hole saws and reciprocating saw blades for HVAC, maintenance, plumbing, electrical, manufacturing and construction professionals.
The tools have new packaging and new displays for distributor showrooms. Reciprocating saw blades include bi-metal, carbide and woodcutting blades.
According to Michael Miller, vice president and general manager of BAHCO North America, one goal for the new tool line is to interest more distributors in selling these kinds of tools.
"We believe that BAHCO by Snap-on can develop a unique market position as a premium tool offering unmatched design, superior quality, outstanding workmanship, fit and feel," he said.
