A headline in the Technology Update section of our November issue, "Johnstone Supply selects Eclipse," p. 42, was misleading.
A taskforce comprised of Johnstone Supply's independent store owners recommended the software to other store owners when choosing to upgrade their systems. The corporate offices of Johnstone Supply have recently gone online with NxTrend software, said Johnstone president Gary Daniels.
"NxTrend software enables communication with Johnstone's 245 locations regardless of what software is used at that location," said NxTrend marketing manager Matthew Turner.
Daniels points out that 70 percent of Johnstone's stores use a custom legacy application, though a handful have gone online with Eclipse.
"Official recommendation of Eclipse for store usage has been given by the software task force and endorsed by the board," Daniels said.
However, Johnstone store owners still have the option to choose NxTrend, Daniels added.
