Dayton, Ohio—Continuing the sale of its industrial division businesses, Dayco recently announced the sale of its fluid management business to Parker Hannifin. Dayco previously sold its power transmission and Swan garden hose businesses. Terms were not disclosed.
Richard Bing, former president of Dayco Industrial Div., said BC partners, a private European equity firm, owns Mark IV Industries, which in turn owns Dayco. Bing is a vice president of Mark IV Industries.
"BC decided to divest portions of the industrial business that are not strategic to the way they are going," Bing said when the sale of the industrial divisions was announced. "As before, we expect our people who are dealing with customers will continue to give full service."
According to Dayco, the industrial fluid management division includes hydraulic hose and couplings, tubing, fittings and other hose products. They include products sold under the Imperial-Eastman trade name.
Parker expects to solidify its marketing position with the addition of Dayco's fluid transfer products.
"Now we're capable of offering a wide range of highly proprietary rubber and thermoplastic hose assemblies that are essential to key niche markets such as mining, marine, petroleum, construction and injection molding," said Parker operating officer Jack Myslenski.
