Garlock and TCM combine strengths

Burnsville, MINN.— Garlock Sealing Technologies and Transcom, Inc. announced in October an alliance combining their marketing, sales and distribution efforts. The goal is to offer distributors a single source for seals, from small bore to large bore.
Garlock, headquartered in Palmyra, N.Y., manufactures large-bore radial lip and bearing protection seals. TCM, of Burnsville, Minn., provides broad coverage of both inch and metric seals. Combined, the companies have over 12 million seals in stock and nearly 30,000 part numbers.
"Some things just belong together," said TCM president John Rice. "Combining our resources lets us offer customers one-stop shopping for all their seal needs ... plus faster service."
In addition to the increased volume, both companies offer engineering and design programs. They also tout their RF automated warehouse management systems for providing faster service and more accurate orders.
